Well, I am more of a old school duck hunter who believes in decoy placement, concealment and calling to work ducks. That's the way I learned to duck hunt and it works. That's the way I hunt in the timber when I'm standing in the woods or in a small hole.
We do hunt one blind that is on about 8 or 10 acres of open water and we do use them, although sparingly, in there. The one thing I see that spinner will do is suck the gray ducks down from altitudes unknown. They may not light, but they will come in and hover long enough to shoot some of them. When the mallards are plentiful, we run 4 swimmer decoys and nothing else.
