Hunted pretty hard this morning. Saw plenty of ducks, couple hundred geese. Had 3 good shot opportunities, which should had lead to at least 2 kills for sure but I was off today. A dandy green head, swinging from my left to right, ideal, 25 yards out, just caught a tail wind on a turn and I whiffed. Six more mallards jump up about 50 yards out, into a hard head wind and make the same turn as the one I just missed. Eject the shell from my single shot. Take aim on another green head and whiff. You know sometimes it's days luck this that really make me appreciate the hunt.
It's not the kill that makes the hunt
